Productive Day

chilly breeze
smoke
hamburger smell
sunshine
colbie caillat
traffic sounds amidst
pheasants squanking (yes, squanking)
horses neighing

Sounds like the perfect evening to me :)
I'm sitting outside on my deck as we speak, and I'm in complete bliss.

My day has been quite productive... NOT.

1. Woke up.
2. Walked upstairs.
3. Had strawberry yogurt cheerios (THEY ARE SO YUMMY!)
4. Went back downstairs, grabbed my laptop from my room, came back upstairs.
5. Pulled up a resume outline so I could fill it out...
6. Watched tv all day.
7. Have I touched my resume? NOPE :)
8. Have I basically been scouring the internet all day? YEP.
9. I did go and pick up my sissy from her track practice. I left the house so my day was not a COMPLETE waste... in my eyes at least :)
10. Ate some delish bbq hamburgers.

Now, I'll wait for my tummy to digest and I shall go prancing in the dark :) (NIIIIGHTRUN!!) Whoop whoop! I love night running :)

Done!

I'm finally done with finals! One more quarter til' summer :) So excited. I've been studying like a maniac the past four days, and now my brain is resting :) This year has been FLYING by!! It seems like yesterday that I was moving into my dorm!! Holy macerole.

{There's an owl hooting outside, and I can hear it.
It better stop before I go to bed or I will be very upset :) }

Aaaaannnyyywwaaayyyyssssss, it's been a while since I've written! Ah!

There was a sign today at school, that read, "If you knew that you had a short life to live, how would you live your life differently?"
Really makes you think about life. About creation and why we are put on this earth. Why you're friends with the friends you have, why your thought process is the way it is.. Like what would happen if I was born in Mexico? What would my life be like? Or if I was born in Australia?? I've been having those type of questions a lot lately.. Why am I here??
I don't know, I just get into those kinds of zones that I just zone out and my mind wonders and asks questions that are hard to answer.

On the other hand, I'm home :)
Had the best dinner EVER tonight!!! Grilled cheese with tomato soup!!!
Ahhhh so YUMMY. My Mama did goooooood :)
I also got a new memory foam for my bed! I haven't slept in my own bed since the middle of summer. The couch has been my bed :) So I'm pretty excited about this new foamy stuff :)

Peace out girl scout.

Change.

One thing made me explode today. One thing. It amazes me how that thing is a person... How can one person ruin a good day... ESPECIALLY since that one person means so much to me.

It hurts to know that this person doesn't believe I can care for myself... i.e. cook food, do laundry, etc. Um, hello? I'm in college now. I AM living on my own.. I do my own laundry, I watch what I eat, I do my homework.. All the while without you watching over my shoulder. Jeez, thanks for the putdown and doubting me. Not to mention major breakdown time. Ouch.

But now I'm aware just how much I depend on other people...
Maybe it is time for me to finally branch out
and care even more for myself then I already do..
Maybe I DO need to be more independent..
Maybe I need a reality check..

Maybe it is time for a change...
A change in me.

I don't know what this change is going to be. I'll definitely be praying about it. Hopefully it's a good change and that it will turn things in my life around, for the better.

"I am the light for the world! Follow Me, and you won't be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life."
John 8:12

Lodge Grass, Montana

Have you ever put on a shirt in the morning,
and been in a good mood from there on out?
I have.
Today, I put on my loser shirt.
Yep, LOSER.
But this isn't any ordinary loser shirt.
This one is special :)
It's black and says "loser" on the front,
and has a unique saying on ze back.

"he who finds his life will lose it,
and he who loses his life for my sake will find it." - Jesus

I LOVE this shirt.
Not only does it remind me of awesome Jesus is..
But it also reminds me of a life changing experience I had over the summer...

The mission trip to Lodge Grass, Montana.
Crow Reservation.
Summer 2009.
I wish I could go back.

I miss this so much. I can't even put into words how much I miss it.
A rad youthgroup that changed my life.
One of a kind kids that changed my life.
God changed my life.

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free..."
Galatians 5:13a

Free from the desire for FAME
Free to share WEALTH
Free to know God's POWER
Free to be REVOLUTIONary
FREE

All this while spending time with Crow Indian children.
Easily, this was the best time of my life.
I miss the smiles, the happiness, the togetherness...
I even miss the endless piggypack rides.
I miss Kirsten. She was the sweetest little girl I have ever laid my eyes on..

( This is her ^^^ )
She even made me a purple and pink pipeliner bracelet!

Which I never take off. Ever. It's my reminder of her and the trip :)

I also miss Aleana and Ellie, two girls from my church youthgroup.
I became friends with them instantly.
We bonded so incredibly well.
They mean so much to me and we are going to
be friends for the rest of our lives.
I know it :)

Ohhhh, Lodge Grass how I wish I could go back.
It's amazing how one place can change you forever.
Thankfully for me, it was for the better :)

Work Ethic.

You know, it really upsets me when people don't give their all. It bothers me to an extent and I guess you could say it's a really intense pet peeve. INTENSE. For example: today at soccer practice, there were a couple of girls, that acted like practice was a joke to them and that they didn't even care. They put forth NO effort. Oh look, there goes the ball. What was I supposed to do again? OH YEAH. Kick it with my foot. If you come to practice, show up to play. Show up to PRACTICE. If you're just going to goof off then don't show up because you're just wasting my time and the teams time. Gain some work ethic somewhere between now and next Monday, please. Anyways, I just had to blow off some steam and preach my opinion :)

On the other hand, I figured out I have a new obsession!

Wild Cherry Pepsi. Boom.

SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Instantly changed my mood. That, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves! It's been quite a while since I've watched it, and boy does it bring back memories. Back when I didn't even think about writing 10 page papers, or worry about working out everyday. Back when I didn't even know something simple as to how to drive a car. Back when I looked forward to recess, played freeze tag with other little kids and had hopskotch competitions. The good ol' days :) BUT, I'm happy where I am in life right now. Very happy :) And I plan to stay that way for a long time :)

Smile.

SMILE [smahyl] : to assume a facial expression indicating pleasure, favor, or amusement, but sometimes derision or scorn, characterized by an upturning of the corners of the mouth.

Walking from Math to English today, I saw something rather mood changing. Someone had written "Smile" in chalk on the sidewalk. You don't see that everyday! Especially on a college campus. Needless to say, I was particularly happy from then on. It made me think about how a simple thing like smiling can change your mood (if you really put some effort into it, that is). I realized just how many things and people make me smile at the thought. The list is literally endless..

But then at the same time, there is a countless amount of things that can destroy that smile... that can destroy this illuminated happiness.

I found this quote earlier today while looking for a "Smile" picture (I don't have a camera to take pictures with, so might as well steal some off the internet, right?).

"Smile... it's the key that fits the lock of everybody's heart."

So Smile today. Smile everyday. Flash someone a smile. It'll make your day and their day better :)

Gloomy days call for gloomy mood? No way.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this whole 'BLOG' thaaang'. I really enjoy capitalizing BLOG as well.. It kind of gives the word some spunk. In my opinion, anyway. I've been looking forward to this post ALL day. Literally. I've added a fishy tank, a picture of my wonderful sisters and a freerice.com ad :) I'm figuring out all of the layout settings, post setting, etc. Pretty productive BLOG day it seems like!

My day so far has been particularly long. I didn't really sleep well last night because I had three nightmares. Yes, THREE! They were terrible :( I DID luck out on presenting my research paper though. I don't know how, but I have no complaints. Gives me an extra day to spice it up ;) It is rather gloomy today, and windy as well. UBER cold. I have to admit as much as the 'gloominess' may portray, I didn't mind the rainy weather. It just gave me an excuse to sport my sweats :) I kept my eyes peeled to the sky for any sign of a rainbow, but it must have been playing hide and seek with me. Sad day :( I am quite excited to play soccer in the rain though, that's always fun and slippy-slidy ;)

I came across a really intriguing bible verse today, and so I thought I would share :)

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of lives."
- Genesis 50:20

I found it on a website for the Taylor Hooton Foundation.. a boy who committed suicide from the side effects of discontinuing steroid use (depression, hopelessness, etc...) It really makes you stop and think for a bit.

Ta-ta for now :)

Mind, be free.

So. Woke up this morning, around 11:30 in the AM. To say the least, for a Sunday morning it was a pretty typical wake up time. Basically spent ALL day "working" on a research paper due tomorrow {of course I saved it for the day before.. what do you expect?!}. Whilst typing and editing this horrendous and dreadful 10-page paper, I thought of ways to procrastinate. Usually I facebook, or check my email, surf other websites on the web, watch tv, download music...the list goes on and on. But today's procrastination idea was different. I wanted to BLOG. I feel as if BLOGGING will help refresh my mind :) It's like being able to BLOG is like telling my mind to be free. So here I am. Mind, be free :) I am looking forward to writing about random thoughts and I'm not necessarily searching for my BLOGS to be read.. no no. Just for anyone who wants to take a gander at my wonderful BLOG, then they shall. No holding back. My mind, is going to be let free into the wild. Like letting a wild animal go free after being captured. Wild animal, rawr, into the wild I plunge.
